BYD Unveils All-Electric Denza N8 with 1,000 km Range and Ultra-Fast Charging
BYD has launched the all-electric Denza N8, a luxury SUV with a claimed 1,003 km CLTC range and 5-minute charging capability. The model features Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging technology, offering single or tri-motor powertrains.

BYD has introduced the all-electric version of its Denza N8, a luxury SUV with a claimed range of 1,003 km (623 miles) under the CLTC standard. The model also supports ultra-fast charging, capable of recharging from 10% to 70% in just five minutes.
## Range and Charging Capabilities
The Denza N8’s range matches that of its discontinued plug-in hybrid predecessor, which combined electric and gasoline power. The new all-electric model relies on BYD’s latest Blade Battery 2.0, designed to maximize energy density and efficiency. Its Flash Charging technology allows for rapid replenishment, with a full charge (10% to 97%) taking just nine minutes.
## Specifications and Powertrain Options
The Denza N8 is built on BYD’s e3 platform and offers two powertrain configurations:
| Configuration | Motors | Power Output | |---|---|---| | RWD | Single motor | 320 kW (429 hp) or 370 kW (496 hp) | | AWD | Tri-motor | 270 kW (362 hp) front, two 310 kW (416 hp) rear motors, total 890 kW (1,193 hp) |
The SUV measures 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. It is powered by a 130.15 kWh battery pack, which contributes to its impressive range.
## Design and Market Context
The electric Denza N8 retains a design nearly identical to the larger Denza N8L, which BYD launched earlier this year with similar Flash Charging technology. The original plug-in hybrid version of the N8, available in six- and seven-seat configurations, was discontinued due to low sales. The new all-electric model is positioned as a five-seater, emphasizing luxury and performance.
