Common questions

What does Kilowatt Miles actually cover?

Kilowatt Miles follows electric vehicles sold in North America, organised around the individual model and the charging network it can actually use. Vehicles holds the model pages, Charging covers networks and connectors, and Range & Tests, Batteries and Incentives sit alongside them. Anything outside electric road vehicles and the infrastructure they plug into is out of scope.

Where do the stories come from?

Each piece is a summary of reporting already published by a named outlet, or of a primary document such as a regulator filing. The publication is credited in the article and linked, so you can read the original wording rather than ours. Source text is never republished verbatim.

Why is there no name on the articles?

There is no individual byline, because the pieces are written with automated assistance from the source material. The publication the piece draws on is credited where an author's name would normally sit. The Sources and methods page sets out how that works.

How often does the site update?

New pieces are added through the day as source reporting appears, so the News section and the front page reorder themselves rather than filling a fixed slot. There is no set publication time and no weekly edition.

Does Kilowatt Miles recommend which EV to buy?

No. It reports what has been published about models, charging networks and incentives, and it does not rate cars, rank them or tell you what to buy. Where a tested range figure appears it belongs to whoever measured it, and that publication is named.

Are there cookies or trackers?

No cookies are set and no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking runs here. If you switch between the light and dark theme, that choice is kept in your own browser's local storage and never leaves your device. Fonts and images load from the site itself, so reading a page does not report your visit to anyone else.
