IONNA Cuts EV Fast Charging Rates Nearly 50% for Labor Day
IONNA is offering a holiday charging sale of $0.20 per kWh from September 4-7, nearly half its standard rate. Drivers of BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and GM EVs can stack additional automaker discounts for even lower prices.

IONNA is slashing its fast charging price to $0.20 per kilowatt-hour for the Labor Day weekend. The promotion runs from Friday, September 4, through Monday, September 7.
This represents a significant discount from the network's regular rate, which is capped at $0.39 per kWh. No paid membership is required to access the sale price.
The cost savings are substantial for drivers. Electrek calculates that adding 50 kWh of energy to an electric vehicle battery would normally cost up to $19.50 before tax at an IONNA station. During the holiday weekend, that same charge will cost just $10, saving the driver $9.50.
Stackable Automaker Discounts
While any compatible EV can charge for the sale price, drivers from four of IONNA's eight founding automakers can access even lower rates. BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and General Motors have rolled out additional discounts that stack with the network-wide promotion.
To activate these extra savings, drivers must start their charging session using their automaker's dedicated app or via Plug & Charge functionality. Simply tapping a credit card at the charger will not apply the deeper discount.
The stacked rates result in the following prices per kWh:
| Automaker Group | Sale Price per kWh |
|---|---|
| BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz | $0.16 |
| General Motors (GM) | $0.18 |
At these stacked rates, a 50 kWh charge drops to $8 for BMW, Hyundai, and Mercedes drivers. GM drivers would pay $9 for the same amount of energy.
Network Compatibility and Growth
IONNA's network, branded as Rechargeries, supports both NACS and CCS connector types. The stations offer charging speeds of up to 400 kW. This means the holiday sale is available to a wide range of electric vehicles, not only those from the founding automaker partners.
The network's own locator tool shows station locations, real-time availability, connector types, and local amenities.
IONNA reached a milestone of 100 operational sites with nearly 1,000 charging bays this past March. The joint venture has an ambitious growth target, aiming to have 30,000 charging bays online by the year 2030.
The report positions this promotion as a boon for holiday road-trippers looking to reduce their travel costs. It concludes by noting that Electrek has previously reported IONNA outperforming other major fast-charging networks.
