Kia has begun selling its 2027 EV3 compact electric SUV in the United States. The vehicle starts at $29,890, positioning it as one of the most affordable EVs on the market.

The 2027 Kia EV3 is available in five distinct trim levels. These are the Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and the range-topping GT model.

Two battery pack options are offered. The base EV3 Light trim features a 58.3 kWh battery with an EPA-estimated range of up to 221 miles. The Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT trims use a larger 81.4 kWh battery, providing up to 321 miles of range.

All trims come standard with a NACS charging port. This allows drivers to use Tesla Superchargers without needing a separate adapter.

Lease Offers and Financing

Kia is advertising lease deals for the 2027 EV3. The offer for the EV3 Wind FWD model starts at $349 per month for 24 months, with $3,999 due at signing. A 36-month lease for the same model is available at $359 per month.

The EV3 Wind AWD version has a special lease offer of $399 per month for 24 months, also with $3,999 due at signing. A 36-month lease for the AWD model is listed at $409 per month.

Kia's payment calculator estimates a lease for the base EV3 Light FWD trim at approximately $352 per month for 24 months, with $3,999 due at signing. The company is also offering 0.90% APR financing for up to 48 months on all 2027 EV3 models. A $1,500 customer cash discount is available.

Competitive Landscape

The report compares the EV3's lease costs to rival models. The EV3 Wind FWD has an effective monthly cost of $515. Electrek notes this undercuts the 2027 Chevy Bolt FWD LT, which has an effective cost of $561 per month.

Kia claims the EV3 is "America's most affordable 315+ mile range EV," a title taken from the Chevy Equinox EV. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 presents strong competition, however. Hyundai is offering up to $5,000 in total savings, with IONIQ 5 leases starting at $319 for 24 months and $4,999 due at signing. The IONIQ 5's effective monthly cost is about $527, roughly $10 more than the EV3 Wind FWD.

Charging and Interior Tech

The 58.3 kWh battery can charge from 10% to 80% in about 29 minutes. The larger 81.4 kWh battery takes approximately 31 minutes for the same charging cycle.

Inside, every EV3 model features Kia's latest ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment system. The setup includes nearly 30 inches of combined screens, with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A dual 12.3-inch instrument cluster and touchscreen is complemented by a separate 5-inch climate control display.
