Polestar, Hyundai, and Kia are rolling out steep incentives on new electric vehicles to boost sales in September 2026. A report from State of Charge details the month's best deals, which include substantial cash discounts and low-interest financing across several models.
While new electric car deals are not as aggressive as during the peak tax credit era, automakers are still pushing offers. The report compiles notable incentives, from affordable crossovers to high-performance sedans.
Audi S e-tron GT
Audi is offering a $20,000 cash discount off the MSRP of its S e-tron GT sports sedan for September. The vehicle starts at $129,095. It shares its J1 II platform with the updated Porsche Taycan.
The S e-tron GT comes standard with dual motors, a "Performance Battery Plus," adaptive cruise control, lane centering, premium audio, and a 3-zone climate control system. The car makes 670 horsepower and can accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in 3.3 seconds. Its 105kWh battery provides an EPA-estimated 300 miles of range and can charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes.
Polestar and Hyundai Offers
Polestar is providing multiple incentives on its Polestar 4 liftback. The main offer is a $25,000 cash discount. Additional bonuses include $1,700 for builds with Nappa leather seats and a $1,000 loyalty bonus for current Polestar owners. An alternative offer provides $18,000 cash off with 0% APR financing for 60 months. A lease option is available for $499 per month for 39 months with $1,500 due at signing.
The Polestar 4 features a 100kWh battery and is available in rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor configurations. The report states the rear-wheel-drive model delivers 310 miles of EPA range, while the dual-motor version offers up to 280 miles. Standard features include a power liftgate, an 8-speaker audio system, and the Pilot Assist suite. The starting price is $57,800 including destination, but the report notes most retail for around $65,000 with options. With the discount applied, new models can be secured in the low-$40,000 range.
Hyundai is offering a $6,500 cash discount on the IONIQ 5, or $5,500 in California, plus 0% APR financing for 72 months. The IONIQ 9 three-row SUV gets a $10,000 bonus on cash purchases. An alternative deal provides $3,000 off plus 0% APR for 72 months, or a lease for $369 per month for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing.
The entry-level IONIQ 9 SE has a 110.3kWh battery and an EPA range of 335 miles. It seats seven and can charge from 10% to 80% in 24 minutes. All IONIQ 9 models come with Highway Driving Assist (HDA) 2.0. With the $10,000 discount, the IONIQ 9 S's price drops to $51,055.
Kia's EV Discounts
Kia has several incentives for September. The compact EV3 gets a $1,500 cash bonus or 0.90% APR for 48 months. The Wind FWD trim can be leased for $349 for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing. The EV3 Wind trim has an 81.4kWh battery and an EPA range of 321 miles. It includes a 10-way power driver's seat and Highway Driving Assist. A 10% to 80% charge takes 31 minutes.
The Kia EV9 three-row SUV receives a $10,000 bonus on cash purchases. Another offer provides $5,000 off plus 0% APR for 72 months, or a lease for $439 for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing. The EV9 Light Short Range model, with destination fees, costs $46,545 after the discount and offers 230 miles of range. It can charge from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes.
The Kia Niro EV is available with a $10,000 cash bonus or a lease for $269 per month for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing. The Niro EV Wind starts at $41,195, dropping to $31,195 with the incentive. It uses a 64.8kWh battery for 253 miles of range and comes with heated front seats and adaptive cruise control.
Certified Pre-Owned and Other Models
BMW is offering low-interest financing on its certified pre-owned electric inventory. The report states the iX gets a 2.49% APR for 72 months, while the i4, i5, and i7 models receive a 2.99% APR for the same term. A $1,000 college graduate bonus is also available.
The report also mentions that the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is in its fifth model year and is more affordable than ever. It lists five main trims but recommends skipping the entry-level SE version, which offers 245 miles of range and 168 horsepower. Long-range versions feature an 82kWh battery and up to 318 miles of range. The SE Long Range RWD starts at $39,100, falling to $32,600 with the incentive. For comparison, the report notes a new Toyota RAV4 LE is priced at $33,495.
