Tesla has cut the monthly price of its Cybertruck Windshield Protection Plan from $35 to $25. The new rate applies to the first payment on or after October 1, 2026. Subscribers have been notified that all other benefits remain unchanged.

The plan provides unlimited repairs for chips and minor cracks on the front windshield. It also includes one full replacement every 12 months at no extra charge. Any additional replacements within the same year require a $100 deductible. Service is performed with Tesla glass and includes necessary camera calibration, which is critical for systems like Autopilot and Full Self-Driving that rely on cameras mounted behind the windshield.

Coverage Details and Pricing Shift

There is no long-term contract. The coverage applies only to the front glass and explicitly excludes damage from collisions, vandalism, or severe weather.

The Cybertruck's large, complex windshield has been more expensive to replace than glass on Tesla's passenger cars, which initially justified the higher subscription price. The $10 monthly reduction lowers the annual cost from $420 to $300. Tesla has not publicly explained the reason for the change. The timing coincides with the company now having a full year of claims data since the plan was extended to the Cybertruck.

Tesla's Protection Plan Portfolio

Tesla sells several related protection products as monthly subscriptions through the Tesla app. The Windshield Protection Plan is also offered on other models. Rates for the Model 3 and Model Y remain unchanged at $16 per month, as confirmed in the latest Cybertruck notice.

A separate Wheel and Tire Protection Plan covers road-hazard damage from potholes, nails, and debris. It offers unlimited repairs, with each wheel or tire replacement appointment carrying a $25 deductible. Pricing for this plan varies by model and whether it is a Performance version. Tesla is raising some of these rates on the same October 1, 2026 date.

Reported examples of increases include the Model 3 Performance plan moving from $16 to $24 monthly and the Model Y Performance plan increasing from $20 to $24. For the Cybertruck, wheel-and-tire coverage is listed at $20 per month for the standard configuration.

Broader Service Options

Tesla also markets a Luxe Package, which bundles four years of windshield coverage, wheel-and-tire coverage, and recommended maintenance. This package is available for certain new Model S, Model X, and Cyberbeast orders, although the Model S and X are now defunct.

For coverage extending beyond the basic vehicle warranty, Tesla offers an Extended Service Agreement. This product covers many Tesla-manufactured components but does not include glass or tires. Collectively, these plans provide owners with a menu of targeted, cancel-anytime coverage options separate from standard auto insurance.
