The base TZ450e Premium AWD offers up to 253 miles of range. The Touring model offers up to 315 miles. The Luxury trim gets 279 miles. The two more expensive trims receive the larger 96-kWh battery.
Performance and Charging
All TZ models come standard with an evolved version of the DIRECT4 AWD system. The dual-motor AWD setup delivers a combined 308 horsepower and 323 pound-feet of torque. All three trims use the same dual-motor powertrain. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is 6.2 seconds, and the top speed is 112 mph. Previously, 402 hp had been stated for the model.
The 2027 Lexus TZ includes an NACS charge port, allowing access to Tesla Superchargers without a separate adapter. The vehicles support charging at up to 150 kW. Charging the TZ450e Premium from 10% to 80% takes 28 minutes. Versions with the larger battery take 35 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
The vehicle features the latest Lexus Interface multimedia system. It includes customizable widgets, an improved Voice Assistant, and full-screen navigation on the digital cluster. The system also includes EV Routing and EV Range Map to help find and handle to EV charging stations.
Market Position
The 2027 Lexus TZ is 200.8 inches long, 78.3 inches wide, 67.1 inches tall, and has a 120.1-inch wheelbase. It is about the same size as the Hyundai IONIQ 9 and the Volvo EX90. The Lexus TZ costs more than the Hyundai IONIQ 9 but less than the Volvo EX90.
Lexus will beat the Toyota Highlander BEV and Subaru Getaway to market with its first three-row electric SUV. The dual-motor Subaru Getaway has a stated output of 420 hp. The Toyota Highlander EV has a stated output of 338 hp. Prices for the Toyota and Subaru models have not yet been announced. One commenter, OrangeBullhorn, said: "that giant suv only going 250 range is not acceptable today."
The Lexus TZ is scheduled to enter the market at the end of 2026.
