Volkswagen has announced the ID. EVERY1, a new compact electric vehicle that will launch in 2027 with a price below €25,000. This positions it as the brand's most affordable electric model, based on the ID. EVERY1 concept shown previously. The vehicle will be smaller than the ID. Polo and ID. Cross.

The new EV will measure 3,880 mm in length, placing it between the former Up! And the current ID. Polo. Volkswagen brand CEO Thomas Schäfer called the model "the last piece of the puzzle" for its electric lineup. The starting price is expected to be around €20,000.

It will be built on Volkswagen's MEB+ platform and use a 37 kWh LFP battery paired with a 70 kW (94 hp) electric motor. Top speed is rated at 130 km/h. The company expects a range of at least 250 km. Inside, it will offer space for four passengers and a 305-liter luggage compartment.

Production and Market Position

The production version will be one of nine new models Volkswagen plans to launch by 2027. Manufacturing may be established in Spain, potentially at the Martorell or Navarra plants. Volkswagen currently produces the ID. Polo and Cupra Raval in Martorell, and the ID. Cross and Skoda Epiq in Navarra.

The ID. EVERY1 will be priced below its stablemates, undercutting the ID. Polo, which starts at €24,995, and the ID. Cross, priced from €27,995. The ID. Polo with a 37 kWh battery offers a WLTP range of up to 334 km.

Competitive Context

This new car is a key part of the Volkswagen Group's response to competition from Chinese automakers like BYD. It targets the key sub-€25,000 segment to attract entry-level buyers. The vehicle will be part of what Volkswagen calls its Electric Urban Car Family.

Volkswagen has secured nearly 150,000 orders for its new electric models after series production began in June. The ID. EVERY1 will not be available in the US market. In 2027, Volkswagen also plans to launch the ID. Tiguan to replace the ID.4. The affordable EV will launch in 2027 as Volkswagen's most affordable electric car, priced below €25,000.
