Pre-sales for the new Denza N8 electric SUV begin on October 26. The large five-seat luxury model officially launches in November, a date confirmed by Denza general manager Li Hui on Weibo.

Li Hui called the vehicle "the king of large 5-seater pure electric vehicles." The N8 enters the market with a record-breaking claimed range and charging speeds designed to challenge established premium rivals.

Range and battery specifications

The Denza N8 claims a world-leading 1,003 km pure electric range under China's CLTC test cycle. This figure translates to over 623 miles. The SUV uses BYD's second-generation Blade Battery, confirmed for the model in July.

Chinese regulatory filings list multiple battery options and certified range figures. The largest pack has a capacity of 130.15 kWh, which delivers the maximum 1,003 km CLTC range. Analysts suggest this could equate to roughly 750 to 800 km on the stricter WLTP cycle. A second, 105.792 kWh battery option is also listed. The model's four certified range figures span from 800 km to the top 1,003 km figure.

Charging performance

Key to the N8's proposition is BYD's 1,500 kW Flash Charging technology. The system can power a compatible vehicle from a 10% state of charge to 70% in just five minutes. A near-full charge, from 10% to 97%, takes only nine minutes.

The technology remains functional in extreme cold. Charging times extend by just three minutes even in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Powertrain and performance

The Denza N8 is built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture. It will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, as shown in filings from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The rear-wheel-drive version uses a single motor. It comes in two power outputs: 320 kW (429 hp) and 370 kW (496 hp). The flagship is a triple-motor all-wheel-drive variant, internally designated e3. It combines a 270 kW (362 hp) front motor with two 310 kW (416 hp) rear motors for a combined output of 890 kW, or 1,193 horsepower. This tri-motor version has a listed curb weight of up to 2,860 kg and a maximum speed of 240 km/h.

The vehicle measures 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a 3,075 mm wheelbase. It is 50 mm shorter than the six-seat Denza N8L, with all other dimensions unchanged.

Interior and technology features

Inside, the cabin is dominated by large screens. A 30-inch center infotainment screen is paired with a 43-inch panoramic head-up display. Spy shots of undisguised vehicles in China have shown a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. Denza has not confirmed the specifications of the driver-assistance package that would use this hardware.

Reservations for the Denza N8 open on October 26. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026.
